    Overview

    The Goldair RCD or residual current device, is a life-saving device which is designed to prevent you from getting a fatal electric shock if you touch something live, such as a bare wire. RCDs offer a level of personal protection that ordinary fuses and circuit-breakers cannot provide.
    The RCD constantly monitors the balance of electrical current flow within the plugged-in appliance. Should your body contact a live part of the appliance, an imbalance is sensed by the safety switch and the power supply is automatically switched off very quickly, significantly reducing the risk of death or serious injury.
    You should always use an RCD when you are using plug-in appliances such as lawn mowers, hedge trimmers, water blasters etc or when you are using any electrical appliance near water.
    Easy to test. Unit only becomes operational after the reset button has been pressed.
    Suitable for most portable electrical appliances and power tools.
