Trade Aid Moragn Kaisa & Palm Leaf Square Storage Basket with Lid Natural

Overview

Trade Aid is a social enterprise creating fairness in trade. We work with food and craft producers around the world, and we support and educate kiwi consumers to join with us in creating a world where trade is fair for all.


This lidded square storage basket is hand woven from kaisa wrapped with date palm by artisans working with one of our fair trade partners in Bangladesh.
Kaisa is a natural and abundant grass material which starts out a natural light green colour and as the grass dries becomes lightly tanned. Date palm leaf is from the Phoenix Sylvestris palm. A coiling method is used to make the baskets robust and rigid. In this product date palm is used to bind the Kaisa grass.


Please note as these baskets are handmade, there could be slight variations in size, weave and colour. If you are ordering multiple baskets, our team will do their best to pick baskets that match.
