Overview

Trade Aid is a social enterprise creating fairness in trade. We work with food and craft producers around the world, and we support and educate kiwi consumers to join with us in creating a world where trade is fair for all.


This little bowl is handmade from plaited water hyacinth fibre by skilled artisans working with one of our fair trade partners in Bangladesh.
Water Hyacinth is a natural, fast-growing plant that grows along waterways all over the world. Artisans harvest water hyacinth, dry the stalks before using unique weaving techniques to create beautiful baskets.


Please note as these baskets are handmade, there could be slight variations in size, weave and colour. If you are ordering multiple baskets, our team will do their best to pick baskets that match.
