Trade Aid August Kaisa & Jute Storage Basket with Handles Natural Large

Overview

Trade Aid is a social enterprise creating fairness in trade. We work with food and craft producers around the world, and we support and educate kiwi consumers to join with us in creating a world where trade is fair for all.

Features:
  • This round storage basket is handwoven from natural kaisa grass and jute twine by skilled basketry artisans working with one of our fair trade partners in Bangladesh.
  • Kaisa is a natural and abundant material which starts out a natural light green colour and as the grass dries becomes lightly tanned. Jute is a natural vegetable fibre that comes from the skin of the jute plant’s stem. Jute is the leading natural resource in Bangladesh and is 100% biodegradable, a renewable resource and sustainably harvested. The fibres are spun into strong, coarse threads which are highly versatile.
