    The long, slender Rock and Root trowel combines easy manoeuvrability with impressive toughness, thanks to the robust forged connection between blade and grip. It’s a terrific tool for lifting deep tap rooted weeds like dandelions and docks, whether they’re blighting your beds or making themselves at home in your borders. Just slide it in close to the weed and lever out the entire thing, root and all, so it won’t recur (at least in the same spot). It’s also a good all-rounder for transplanting and making seed drills for sowing.

    • Taproot weeds have long deep roots that have to be dig out completely to get rid of them
